Alongside academic work, I have written for readers beyond specialist scholarship. These books and essays move between scripture, faith, history, humor, and family memory.
The Adventures of Pumpelhoober began as a children’s story. Mormonen — die Heiligen der letzten Zeit? grew from encounters with Latter-day Saints and an interest in how communities tell their sacred history. Paul’s Collection of Letters and Ein Clown für Christus approach Paul from very different directions—one through the history of publication, the other through imaginative storytelling. Give Me Two Minutes of Your Time, written with Rabbi Harry Z. Sky, invites conversation across religious boundaries. Echoes of Resilience brings together the autobiographical sketches of my two grandmothers, women whose lives crossed continents, wars, missions, and family histories.
